Lost in the Heartwood

Hi there.

Today I’m sharing something a little different. What follows is the text and musical directions for a guided meditation I’m offering for a community sound healing night that takes place weekly at the Trauma Healing Project in Eugene. I’m honored to be a part of creating this healing space with my dear friend and somatic healer Katie Rose More of Vibrant Way.

I’ve decided to share this here as an open resource for others to use and adapt whe creating or curating meditative spaces. Even if you’re not planning to coordinate your own guided experience, I hope you can enjoy it as an archetypal, evocative second-person story inviting deep reflection.

Recommended Instrumentation:

· Crystal bowls

· Piano

· Meditation bell

· Crow call

· Wooden clavé

· Gong

· Tribal drum

· Guitar

· Rainmaker

· Wooden Toad

Introduction:

Facilitators introduce themselves.

I’ll be walking you through a guided meditation using a second-person story invoking natural imagery and spirits, with open-ended questions to prompt visions, reflections, and insight about what’s moving through and what you want to channel in this season of transition.
